We crushed an IPO for a day's pay
The takeaway today as I walked in? I was pretty pissed off seeing the gap.
But the real takeaway today is that you witnessed exactly why you're in the room with me.
The first thing I said this morning was: "We're not going to have a lot to do today. Stay focused, I'll give you the trades."
And I went right to the ironic nature of my life. I told the room that the three stocks I probably own will be the first ones to start going down.
So we looked at Rambus, LightPath, and Nokia.
What do you know?
All three became decent short ideas.
But the biggest call I made was this: "Don't short the QQQ, don't trade the QQQ, don't do anything with the QQQ. It's going to be a gap and sit kind of day, and it's going to be boring."
I nailed it. That's why you're paying me to be here. I kept you out of the chop.
And I still gave you enough trades to make a day's pay with the Rambus short, the Nokia short, and the LightPath short.
But let's not forget the market mechanics lesson I taught regarding the IPO.
I said if you have any chance to buy the Space Exploration Technologies IPO considering how well it was received, you should be looking to buy $SPCX today.
Then we got a Fo-Sho-Bro.
- Our entry point was $171.
- The stock went right to $175 for a day's pay.
- We got stopped out around $172, but then the Fo-Sho-Bro triggered again at $172, and it proceeded to break all-time highs.
That's when I told the room: "I don't care what you missed. If it breaks Friday's highs, buy it. Because 150 gets you 180, and 180 gets you 200."
I said as long as it breaks $177.58, you'll make money. If it breaks $180, look for $185 or $190.
It is currently trading at $198.
So even on boring days, I keep you focused, I give you winning trades, we manage our money, and we crush it.
If you’re already inside the room, I’ll see you tomorrow.
